If you want to offer a choice of surveys to your responder (e.g. different language versions of the same survey) you need to add a Survey Selector question to your surveys; this will switch surveys according to your responder’s selection.
Part 1 shows you how to add the Survey Selector question to your surveys and part 2 shows you how to add options to the Survey Selector question.
Time: less than 5 minutes.
Skill level: All
-
Assuming you have already built your surveys, edit the first one to add the Survey Selector question.
-
At the position where you want to add the Survey Selector question, open the question’s toolbar.
-
From the question’s toolbar open the Template Selector popup.
-
On the Template Selector popup switch to the "Public templates" tab.
-
Scroll down the question templates and locate the “Survey Selector” question. Click to add it to your survey.
-
That is all you need to do - you could leave it there and save your work - but we are going to style it a little, so double click the question to edit it.
-
Remove the question text and regenerate the question.
-
The question has lost its text. Now we are going to align the drop down to the right hand side so double click it to edit it again.
-
We want to right align the column, so switch to the “Columns” tab.
-
Right align the column using the drop down.
-
And update your survey.
-
The survey selector question is now aligned neatly on the right hand side of the survey – don’t worry that it has no options in it, we’ll cover that in part 2. Save your work.
-
You need to add the same question to your other surveys, but rather than doing all these steps again, simply copy the one you’ve just made and it will be available from the Template Selector when you open the Survey Selector (steps 1 - 3).
That’s it; now you need to add the options to the Survey Selector - which is covered in part 2.
